Use of Collected Personal Data

Comments

When you leave a comment on the website, the data entered in the form, as well as your IP address and your browser’s user agent, are collected to help detect unwanted (SPAM) comments.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible to the public next to your comment.

Contact Forms

We use a contact form plugin to allow you to get in touch with us if you wish. The data provided through this form will remain confidential and will never be used for commercial purposes.

Cookies (Trackers)

If you leave a comment on our site, you may be asked to save your name and email address in cookies. This is solely for your convenience so you don’t have to re-enter this information the next time you leave a comment. These cookies expire after one year.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., YouTube videos, SoundCloud audio, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor had visited the other website directly.

These external websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking tools, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to their website. However, this can only happen if you interact with these media (for example, by watching a video).

How Long We Keep Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and automatically approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Your Rights Regarding Your Data

If you have left comments on the site, you can request to receive a file containing all the personal data we have stored about you. You can also request the deletion of your personal data. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for security purposes.

Sharing of Your Personal Data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated SPAM detection service.
