It was in the 1990s that a production team proposed a documentary featuring scenes of a UFO crash in Russia in 1969. They claimed to have obtained several “Top Secret” reels belonging to the KGB through the black market.
The Russians had to find a clever way to dangle a “Roswell” in their own backyard for the Americans. If the Americans possessed extraterrestrial technology—or at least pretended to with smoke and mirrors—the Russians had to do the same by investing in UFO surveillance and staging a crash complete with the recovery of extraterrestrial remains.
Summary of the official story
It’s March 1969, in the Sverdlovsk region of Russia. A strange object crashes in a wooded area. Soon after, the military arrives and secures the zone. Investigations begin and they soon discover, as if planted in the ground, a half-buried disc. While examining the wreckage, the military discovers the remains of an extraterrestrial biological entity—its torso and one of its arms. The creature appears to be very small. The wreckage, as well as the “alien” body, is secured in a military base. The object is studied, and the body is soon to be autopsied…
In the late 1990s, a strange video surfaces. The beginning of the footage informs viewers that the video is from the KGB and is classified top secret. In this video, we see a Russian army unit discovering, in a forest, the half-buried wreckage of what appears to be a flying saucer. In the next part of the video, we see the autopsy of the creature’s body. The body is very small and appears to be burned. Three scientists work around it, along with a woman taking notes. This woman is later identified as O. A. Pshonikina, a KGB stenographer. The story goes that a week later, the three scientists died of cerebral hemorrhaging…

The crash of the U.F.O.
Let’s begin with the crash video (which I’ve included below). Various UFO sighting accounts almost always describe crafts that seem to be molded from a single piece. There are never any panels joined together with rivets, like our airplanes. In the following photo, we notice that the “craft” seems to be made of Styrofoam, is oval-shaped, and has something resembling ventilation grilles.
Then, watching the video, you’ll notice that no one seems interested in analyzing the other side of the object. They walk back and forth in front of the thing without touching it. The ground doesn’t seem disturbed by the crash. In front of the object, the ground is flat. (If there had really been a crash, we’d expect a devastated landscape.)
Third, reinforcements arrive. A group of about fifteen soldiers. We think, “Great, now we’ll see more of the craft—they’ll pull it out and flip it over to look inside…” Well, no. All these soldiers do is collect some “debris” scattered in front of the object. And we wonder where this debris came from, since the UFO appears intact…
The scenes were filmed by two cameramen, which is why there are similar shots taken from different angles. Another troubling detail is that these cameramen (who are supposed to document this extraordinary event for the record and for future study) don’t seem interested in filming the UFO. They wander around filming people and soldiers cleaning up. Overall, the behaviors don’t match those expected at the scene of a real UFO crash. It feels like the “other half” of the UFO doesn’t even exist… Because no one tries to touch it, for fear of damaging the setup…
In the documentary, it is claimed that there are other reels of footage, showing the next stages of the operation, but that they are still in the hands of the KGB. A convenient way to tie up loose ends without addressing the gaps…
Regarding the video I’m presenting, it’s a reorganization of scenes that were mixed and shown piecemeal throughout the documentary. I’ve tried to logically recreate the sequence of events based on the content.
The autopsy of an extraterrestrial body
Now, regarding the second film, the one of the autopsy of the extraterrestrial body, a troubling detail is immediately noticeable… No one is protecting their face! They’re only wearing gloves—nothing more. They’re handling an alien body but show no concern for contamination from foreign bacteria or viruses… Moreover, most of these “doctors” or specialists are shockingly young. It seems to me that if one of the world’s powers had recovered the remains of a being from another world, we certainly wouldn’t see students cutting up the remains with no protective gear whatsoever.
Analyses are said to have been conducted on these two short films, and they supposedly showed that the reels indeed date back to that era, with soldiers and people from that time, etc. To me, this proves that the staging was indeed carried out in 1969. But it still seems to be nothing more than a staged scenario meant to make the rest of the world believe that Russia possesses extraterrestrial technology.
